MISSION
To provide a challenging and stimulating developmentally appropriate curriculum in a safe, nurturing and Christian environment.
We offer full and part time Christian care and education for children 6 weeks through 5 years of age, including high quality nursery school, preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten classes. We are ICCP certified, members of NIAEYC, and winners of the Mayor’s Award for Excellence. We have also been selected as a pilot site for the new IdahoSTARS Childcare Rating System. Our commitment is to provide low child/teacher ratios in a nurturing, safe and Christian environment.
Early Childhood (Infant & Toddler): Learning is through play and social interactions. Daily activities will be planned to expose our infants and toddlers to fine and gross motor skills, sensory, cognitive and literary experiences.
In-House Registration Begins April 1st. Be sure to re-register your child for the new school year which begins June 1st. Open Registration begins May 1st.

A half day is up to 4 hours (due to nap time, pick up no later than 12:30)

| Child development progresses differently for each individual child. Children are influenced by their experiences with the diverse values and practices of their family, culture, and their community. Although children develop in generally similar stages, their individual life experiences are reflected in greatly diverse patterns of behavior, learning, and attitude. Such differences are normal and must be respected in order for children to maintain a sense of pride and personal value. |

ADMISSIONS
Christ the King church members and returning students will be given first priority in enrolling at Christ the King Child Development Center & Kindergarten. We begin our in house registration in early April. Open registration to the public follows in May. We enforce a 30 day probationary period for all new students. If a child is not settling well into our program and it is affecting the class as a whole, we reserve the right to not allow him/her to continue in our center.

At Christ the King we welcome children of all abilities. We will work with parents to provide a safe, nurturing and learning environment for their child. We will also work together to support any services needed to enrich your child's development.
Age Requirements
Christ the King Child Development Center & Kindergarten follows the requirements of the State of Idaho as employed in the local school districts.
* Kindergarten-your child must be 5 years old on or before September 1st .
* Preschool - your child can start preschool at the age of 3 and must be 3 years old on or before
September 1st of the school year.
* Pre-Kindergarten - your child must be 4 years old on or before September 1st of the school year.

Procedure for registration
Sign and return all: enrollment/emergency form, payment agreement form, health care policy form and publishing/field trip form.
Copy of your child's current immunization records must be provided and will be kept on file. Updates are also required.

If behavioral or learning issues have been addressed at another school, please disclose this information with your records.
A non-refundable registration fee will be required at the time of enrollment.
The fees are as follows: $75 per child enrolling in our Child Development Center and $125 per student enrolling for Kindergarten. Sibling discounts are available. |
School News:
Many of you may not be aware, the state of Idaho ranks last in providing quality care for children. IdahoSTARS, a state wide professional organization is working hard on changing this. One way is by supporting state and local representative who believe in the importance of quality care. Another is by introducing a Quality Care Star Rating System. Just as hotels are rated, so will all family, group and center facilities. We would like to proudly inform you that Christ the King Child Development Center has been chosen as one of the 2008 pilot programs. This process begins in February and will take about one year. Our center and staff will be evaluated and assessed. We will have the opportunity to work with local mentors to support our growth and transformation. We will also be eligible for grants and scholarship for educational and material needs. Our goal is that at the end of this transformation we will be an example of excellence for all centers to model. We are proud to represent our community in this very important effort to assure that all childcare facilities are safe and of highest quality. |
